The CFL season is heading towards the final stretch of the season as the playoffs are only a few weeks away. With teams continuing to fight it out for their playoff spot or their playoff positioning there is plenty going off the field. One of the biggest stories this week would be the end of the season long drama between the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Chris Williams. In 2012 Williams would put his stamp on the CFL becoming one of the most prolific special teams player in the history of the CFL.

The Labour Day weekend marks a major milestone in the CFL as it is one of the biggest weekend in the league. The September long weekend is one of the most important weekends of the year as well with teams truly figuring out where they are. It is past the halfway point of the season but every year the Labour Day weekend seems to be the tipping point for all teams.

When disaster strikes people look to something to help them find a sense of normalcy that has been taken away. This is what happened in Calgary in the past two weeks as the city and surrounding areas would find themselves under water. Heavy rainfall would bring river levels to dangerous heights leaving many of the surrounding areas needing to be evacuated.

The Eastern Division is celebrating a win as a whole after 2012 with the Toronto Argonauts winning the 100th Grey Cup. For the East it is a win but for three teams it was a lost opportunity as they would all lose to the Argonauts in the end. Now the East is looking to make it two in a row as they hope to go to Regina and win another Grey Cup.

The 2012 CFL season was a very important one for the league, the fans, and the players as it marked the 100th time that the Grey Cup would be handed out. It was important because it was a chance for the CFL to show the great history that they have in the league. It would all culminate in the 100th Grey Cup that would be held in Toronto where the 1st Grey Cup was handed out.

It is getting to that point in the season were the true competitors are making themselves known in the CFL .Teams begin to really shape their playoff hopes at this moment in the season and begin looking to separate themselves from the rest of the league. Teams do this through one simple tactic and that is to win. To help them do this teams need true leaders who can come out on the field and change the game. It takes these players to win and to help teams to the Grey Cup and to help win the Grey Cup.
