The Labour Day weekend marks a major milestone in the CFL as it is one of the biggest weekend in the league. The September long weekend is one of the most important weekends of the year as well with teams truly figuring out where they are. It is past the halfway point of the season but every year the Labour Day weekend seems to be the tipping point for all teams.

The Labour Day weekend is a lot of things to the CFL as it marks a halfway point, a chance for rivals to face off, and for teams to begin coming back. Last year the Labour Day weekend was one of the most important for one team in particular.

Labour Day weekend did not disappoint the hype as the weekend provided a number of surprises. With the first half of the season officially finished teams began the long trek to the Grey Cup. The teams at the bottom of the league were trying to turn around their season and the top teams looked to keep their season going. Saskatchewan made the biggest change as they fired their head coach Greg Marshall and brought back last year’s head coach Ken Miller in order to turn their season around. The rest of the Western Conference was also trying turn things around except the Calgary Stampeders.
