The UFC needed a replacement after Mauricio Rua dropped out and Yushin Okami stepped up with a chance to make an impression in his return to the UFC but came up short.

The UFC heads to Japan still looking for that star from the homeland of the sport and with some new prospects and and old veteran getting a second chance this might be the card where they find one.

The UFC would finish off one of their busiest times in the year as they would hold their third fight in 6 days. The UFC has been going quickly in the last month as they have pumped out fights keeping the UFC running and changing things rapidly. Whether it was the defeat of Anderson Silva, or the beginning of a new network, or even the crowing of a new lightweight champion the UFC has been busy.

The UFC is full of great stories with so many fighter on the roster and so many coming from different backgrounds. One dominating theme amongst all stories is the fighters who come in to the UFC with legends before they step into the octagon. These fighters move through the lower ranks with ease as they fight in their local circuits and end fights quickly.

The UFC made their return to Japan on one of the longest Pay-per-View fight cards ever with 7 fights on the main card. The UFC decided to make a big impact in their first trip to Japan since 2000 as they looked to break in to one of the biggest fight markets in the world. Japan has always been one of the centres for the MMA world with some of the biggest promotions in the world.

The UFC made a long awaited return to the home of Mixed Martial Arts on Saturday for UFC 134. Brazil had been waiting for the top MMA promotion to return for over a decade and UFC finally decided to make their wish come true. Ever since Brazilian Royce Gracie brought Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) to MMA nothing has been the same. Now BJJ has become a must for fighters who wish to be successful in the UFC and the Gracies are still a major part of this training. With this popularity one would have assumed that BJJ would be on display at UFC 134 with at least one Brazilian in every fight.

The UFC has spent the better part of the last two years increasing the future of the sport around the world. They have travelled to the Middle East, Europe, Canada, and almost everywhere in the USA. Now it is time for the king of Mixed Martial Arts to go back to their roots as the UFC prepares for their first event in Brazil in over a decade. The sport of MMA had been around for a very long time but it wasn’t until Royce Gracie entered the octagon and dominated using the previously unknown discipline of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. This changed MMA forever and began the seedling of what the UFC would build on. Now with the UFC being the fastest growing sport in the world they will go back to Brazil with a card full of the best fighters in the world that also happen to be Brazilian
