It is the largest conference in the CIS and one that many could see as one of the toughest to have any type of run through.

The CIS season began with a big question as the Big Four in the conferences were the main story that everyone was watching. The Calgary Dinos, Laval Rouge et Or, Acadia Axemen, and the McMaster Marauders had all won their conferences in the last two years and questions of three-peats were beginning to surface. Two of the teams had already been through the three-peat and had won plenty of titles ahead of last year. Two teams in the big four were looking to win the title for the third straight year and begin a time of dominance like in the other two conferences.

The CIS season is very close to ending with only one week left for most conferences to finish their season while the OUA would end this weekend. The OUA began this season like any other as they would begin a week before every other conference. This gave them an extra week as they would hold a Quarterfinals unlike the rest of the conferences. So they would end their season earlier than everyone else with the quarterfinals set to start next week.

The CIS season is about to wrap up with teams winding down their regular season and preparing for the playoffs. As the last few weeks count down in the season the playoff races are heating up with some key games this week. There would only be two conferences in action this week as the RSEQ and the CanWest got a week off with the OUA and the AUS continued their fight for the playoffs. Both conferences were in action and both are in the best races for the playoffs out of the four other conferences.

The CIS season is quickly coming to a close for many teams with only a few games left for almost every team. As the league begins to close out the playoff race heats up for teams that are looking to play football late into November. The OUA is already coming through their season as they get into the playoffs with many teams only having two games left in their season.

The OUA will see plenty of changes in 2013 as a new team enters the fold and the dominant team has been gutted. The Carlton Ravens will be the new team on the block as they return to the football field for the first time in 15 years. They will have a high hill to climb as they enter the biggest conference in the CIS and will have to compete with some very well established programs.

The CIS season is getting down to the final week as conferences continue to figure everything out. Week 8 in the CIs saw the end to many playoff races as two conferences left no room and another conference finished its season. The fourth conference is the AUS though and they are still going strong. The Acadia Axemen have put themselves in the first place spot and will earn a bye through the first round.

The season continues to draw to a close as there are now only three games left for most conferences except the OUA who have two. Teams continue to fight for a playoff spot and a chance at extending their season. As week six finished the playoff picture became a little clearer as teams began to take their spots in the next season.

It’s that time of year again in the CIS as the season begins to wind down and look to the playoffs with only four games left for most teams. As the season looks to the end every conference is beginning to see more clear who will be making the playoffs. It is past the halfway point of the season and so it is time to look back and look forward towards the playoffs and the Vanier Cup.

The CIS season officially got under way during Labour Day weekend as they continued a tradition of Canadian Football. For years Canadian Football has held the Labour Day weekend as a special weekend where the sport takes focus. For the CFL the Labour Weekend is a half way mark while for the CIS it is the beginning of a new season.
