Main Event Spoils a Great Night (UFC on FX 4 Review)

The UFC loves to put together fights that will thrill the fans and this has made them the fastest growing sport in the world. At UFC on FX 4 the UFC looked like they had done it again when the pitted two lightweight stars against each other. The fight between Gray Maynard and Clay Guida looked, on paper, to be a classic matchup of two fighters that come forward.

The Lightweight division has been one of the most competitive divisions in the UFC for the past few years. There have been plenty of champions and great challengers throughout the year with the title exchanging hands a few times. As of right now Ben Henderson is the champion after beating Frankie Edgar for the title in Japan.

In March 2012 the UFC on FX 2 featured the debut of a new class of fighters in the UFC as the Flyweights began their championship tournament. The tournament would be a first for the UFC as they would decide the first ever Flyweight Champion through a four fighter tournament.

The UFC has continued to expand their fighting roster with more and more fighters and more weight classes. This was true late last year when Dana White introduced the new Flyweight class that would bring in another lighter weight class. The Flyweight division would be made up of 125 lbs fighters as the UFC continues to add more fighters to improve their talent.

New Division means a New Champion

This year the UFC has made some massive moves from signing a massive deal with Fox to the addition of the Bantamweight and Featherweight. Next year the UFC looks to continue growing as after the latest event, UFC 140, Dana White announced that the UFC would be adding a Flyweight Division.
