Canada is a great and unique country and in 2011 we showed just how great and unique we were in the sports world. The Canadian Sports world is a unique one as there is a clear cut favorite that cannot be debated. BC is known as a baseball factory and the prairies are in love with their football but from East to West and North to South there is no bigger sport than hockey.

Return to Toronto Pays Off

The UFC returned to Toronto for the second time in a year and for the UFC it was another great success. With an attendance of 18,303 and a gate of $3.9 million plus another wild crowd who enjoyed some great fights. The best of them was the main event when Jon Jones would attempt to defend his Light Heavyweight belt against a former champion in Lyoto Machida.

UFC 140 Preview

The UFC is focusing on Toronto ever since MMA was legalized in Ontario as they will host their second UFC in 2011. Originally UFC 140 was slated to be held in Montreal but the UFC changed their minds and moved it to Toronto as the follow up to UFC 129 in April.
