The UFC is in need of stars but there may be a few that come out of UFC on FOX 24 with a lot of very good fighters taking on some big challenges and putting on some very important fights.
The Ultimate Fighter has been used to bring in great prospects for years but this time around it was used to try to find a challenger for the toughest title in the promotion.
The UFC continues to keep the spark plug of their popularity relevant tweaking The Ultimate Fighter into what it was in the 24th season as a tournament of champions determined a challenger.
The two top pound-for-pound fighters went into the octagon at UFC 197 looking to prevent the pattern of upsets that have dominated the UFC over the last year and a half.
UFC 191 was an exhibition of the two extremes of the sport as the last two fights represented two very different spectrums of the fight game.
The UFC is back on pay-per-view and once again they have stacked the card with great fights that are important to their respective divisions.
There is nothing more entertaining than a division that has plenty of turnover at the top of the division with any number of fighters having the possibility of winning the title. It makes the division much more entertaining when a champion goes into a title defence with a lot of doubt. That is not always the case in the UFC though as dominant champions are more common for the promotion. There are a number of divisions that have seen some dominant champions rule over the division and make it more about the question of who can beat the title holder rather than the amount of talent in the division.
It was the lighter weight classes that took focus on the last UFC card on the FOX network, UFC will be moving to Fox Sports 1 as of August 17th. The light weight classes are not known for being the most exciting divisions in the UFC but they would go out and look to change that. AT UFC on Fox 8 there would be only one fight that was Middleweight and nothing at a higher weight class.
The Flyweight Division is still a young one with only two title fights in the division and a handful of good fighters. It is one of the youngest divisions in the UFC and it is still finding its footing in the promotion. It is the lightest weight class for the UFC and that can be a good and a bad thing at times. The fighters are small and so their power is not at the level that many fight fans love to see.
The Flyweight division is one of the youngest divisions in the UFC and at UFC on Fox the first title defence would take full focus. The Flyweight title fight would be the main event of the sixth fight on Fox but there would plenty more at stake in this free card. Every fight in the main card would be an important one for all involved as every divisions would see their next contenders step up.
