A Night of Champions Finishes Big

UFC 139 had a total of 6 former champions on the fight card in what promised to be a great card. The march of champions started when former WEC Bantamweight champions faced off as Urijah Faber took on Brian Bowles for a shot at the UFC Bantamweight title. It continued with a fight between former Pride Champion Wanderlei Silva and former Strikeforce Champion Cung Le. Then the night finished off with one of the biggest matchups between former Pride, Strikeforce, and just about every other title holder Dan Henderson took on former UFC and Pride Champion Mauricio Rua.

What 2 Watch (Nov. 18-20)

Another busy weekend in sports will get underway Friday as there will be something for almost everyone. Football continues to dominate TV with a number of big games on the schedule with most leagues entering the end of their seasons. The CIS will see two big games this weekend as the Uteck Bowl and the Mitchell Bowl will determine the two teams to face off next weekend in the 47th Vanier Cup.

UFC 139 Preview

The UFC has started a pattern where they have regularly gone on strings of fights and then taken one week off until the next string. The current November string ends this weekend after four straight weekends with fights. The last fight of the string will not be as important as the last fight on Fox but it will still have some big repercussions in multiple weight divisions.
