Women’s fighting in the UFC took another huge step in Vegas as the year continues to come to a close. It wasn’t long ago that women in the UFC were not even thought of as the executives at the promotion refused to consider them. That has changed in recent years and a division that was said to have nowhere near the talent has become one of the most entertaining divisions in the UFC. Ronda Rousey rules the division with little to no competition but her star power alone can boost any weight division. Aside from Rousey though, the division has shown its true colours putting on close fights that have been some of the best on every card they are involved in.

Another year is coming to an end and for the UFC that means a host of big fights including the biggest ending to an Ultimate Fighter ever. The Ultimate Fighter Reality show continues on as one of the biggest aspects of the UFC. They are consistently holding these reality shows as a way to increase talent in the UFC but with so many of these shows they continue to try to update the show and keep it fresh. They found a new way to do just that this time around for the 20th season. It wasn’t too long ago that the UFC refused to even entertain the thought of women fighting in the promotion.

TUF 19 Finale Preview

The factory of UFC talent continues to turn as The Ultimate Fighter finishes its 19th season at The Ultimate Fighter 19 Finale. It has become a constant throughout the calendar as there are two shows every year plus the international shows that continue to bring new fighters to the UFC. It has become a de-facto minor leagues of the UFC with young fighters and experienced fighters who have yet to get their shot earning spots in the UFC through the show.

TUF Brazil III Finale Preview

The Ultimate Fighter continues to grow every year with new countries participating in the show every season. The first country outside of the USA to adopt the show would naturally be one of the biggest centres for the spot in Brazil. The success of The Ultimate Fighter Brazil would convince the UFC to move into other parts of the world including China and Canada but they would not forget the originals. The UFC would continue to host regular shows in Brazil and the third season is set to end in Sao Paulo at the TUF Brazil III Finale.

Lives Changed in Quebec City (TUF Nations Finale Review)

The UFC continued their expansion of The Ultimate fighter when they added The Ultimate Fighter: Nations to the long list of seasons. The new season would feature two countries against each other as Canada and Australia would provide the fighters for the new season. As usual the show was meant to add some more fighters to the roster of the UFC and in this case was an attempt to add more Aussies and Canadians to the roster.

The Ultimate Fighter is now a staple for all UFC fans as the reality show has become a constant for the UFC and has almost become a minor leagues for the big promotion. The fighters that are a part of the reality show can become big names in the UFC and every time that the show premieres there is a new crop of potential fighters that may enter the UFC. As the show continues to get bigger the UFC looks to new places to find a new crop of fighters. They would start the new pattern when they created TUF Brazil in 2012 and followed with TUF Smashes later in the same year.

The Ultimate Fighter TV series has had an amazing effect on the UFC bringing it from an underground sport to the mainstream. The reality series has produced some great fighters and great memories but as the 18th season proved there is always more to go. The Ultimate Fighter 18 would feature Bantamweight men and for the first time ever Bantamweight women on the show.

UFC Fight Night 27 Preview

The UFC returns to Fox Sports 1 for the second time in three weeks to kick off a busy fight week with UFC 164 on Saturday. The second card on the new network will be another good one as a rematch highlights a number of TUF All-Stars that will be sure to provide another night of fireworks. The rematch will be between two great welterweights that are both looking to get to a title fight but have to get through each other first.

The UFC has added many new fighters over the years as The Ultimate Fighter franchise continues to grow. With versions of the show popping up in every corner of the world the UFC has created a true feeder system into the main league. This year was no different as The Ultimate Fighter took on a new format but again provided some great moments.
