Out of all of the repeat champions none have been more dominant than the Laval Rouge et Or who have ruled the RSEQ for 10 years. They will be going for their 11th straight Dunsmore Cup as they represent the most dominant franchise in the CIS. Laval has defied all of the odds in the CIS as they have long since lost their original recruiting class that started the run of 10 straight.

The Laval Rouge et Or went into the 48th Vanier Cup with a very clear goal in mind and that was to get some revenge for their loss in the 47th Vanier Cup a year ago. They would be in tough against the best team in the country though with Kyle Quinlan leading the McMaster Marauders to an undefeated season. The Marauders and Rouge et Or had met before in the 47th Vanier Cup in 2011 in what had become known as the Greatest Game Ever Played.

The 2012 CIS season has seen one thing dominate the season and that is the consistency to which the season has played out. Last year saw the Calgary Dinos, Acadia Axemen, Laval Rouge et Or, and McMaster Marauders all make the National playoffs. This year it was the same as all four teams repeated as champions in their conference. The similarities continued as the Mitchell and Uteck Bowls saw the McMaster Marauders and Laval Rouge et Or take the wins.

The RSEQ has been a one team conference for almost the entire last decade of Quebec University Football. It is clear that there has only been one team to pay attention to for this time as the Laval has been a force in the conference. There have been few challengers to the crown for the Rouge et Or as they continue to turn out great teams.
