The American League West was supposed to be a pretty goo battle in 2017 but that battle never came to light and this year might be a lot of the same as the West remains a division ruled by one very good team.

The MLB would see yet another no-hitter this week, marking three so far this year, as the MLB continues to see pitchers dominate the MLB. This week the star of the no-hitter would be Tim Lincecum who would put up his second career no-hitter. His latest would be another chapter in the strange career of Lincecum who shows signs of greatness but can never seem to break through. That wasn’t the case when Lincecum first started his career in the MLB as he was considered one of the best young pitchers in the league.

In every major league in North America there are the haves and the have nots and more often than not the difference can be seen in the divisions. There are the great divisions that seem to pump out championship team after championship team like in the AL East. Then there are the divisions that seem to be given a postseason spot for being the best of the worst.

The 2013 World Series Began this week with the St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Red Sox playing to a 1-1 tie in the series already. Every year the World Series pits two teams against each other and the stories of both of these teams make for great headlines. Generally there are only a few great storylines for the World Series with two teams playing with something pushing them on. This year these stories would be seen easily with the St. Louis Cardinals looking to be second team to win the World Series in three years.

The Season is officially half over as the Mid-Summer Classic gave teams and players a break from the long season. As always the All-Star game brought up the usual debates over the real point of a game to showcase the best of the best. Debates over the World Series home field advantage at stake would be one of the biggest issues.

The Detroit Tigers made quick work of the New York Yankees before last week leaving on series to be figured out. The St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants would fight it out at the beginning of the week to determine the opponents of the Tigers. The series seemed to be over pretty quickly almost as quick as the Yankees-Tigers series.
