No Love Lost in Philly

The UFC made their way back to Philadelphia for UFC 133 but did not have any title fights, although that didn’t deter the fighters from putting on a show. The main event had been changed multiple times as Rashad Evans got a new opponent almost every month. It finally stopped with Tito Ortiz who accepted the fight 8 days after his last fight. The change turned out to be a great matchup as it was the rematch that both fighters had wanted after their first fight. At UFC 73 Ortiz and Evans had faced off and fought to a draw as Ortiz looked like he was going to win until he had a point taken away for grabbing the fence. The draw did not sit well with either fighter and UFC 133 was their chance to avenge the draw and prove who the better fighter is. With Evans out of the ring for 14 months and Ortiz just recently getting his first win in 3 years both fighters were ready to come out and prove that they belong at the top of the light heavyweight division.

UFC 133 Preview

In another change Rashad Evans, who dropped out of an earlier fight due to injury, will now face Tito Ortiz instead of Phil Davis. For both fighters this was a good change as they both really want this fight. Rashad Evans has been slowly climbing the light heavyweight ladder after losing the belt and is now back among the top fighters in the division. Tito Ortiz is beginning to finally get back into the debate after a bad start.
