The American League West was supposed to be a pretty goo battle in 2017 but that battle never came to light and this year might be a lot of the same as the West remains a division ruled by one very good team.

The American League West looked like it was headed to becoming a very competitive division but it never panned out leaving one team on top which is where they hope to stay at the end of 2017 despite the rising of a few teams in the west.

Both leagues came at their postseason teams very differently but with a new season starting it is time for one team to take advantage and take home the World Series title.

The AL West may not have the same history as their NL counterparts but a rivalry is forming and it could once again define the race in the division.

The American League West seemed to be headed towards being the most consistent division in the MLB but that has all fallen apart.

The MLB postseason is winding down as the World Series teams have been determined and the final series of the season gets underway next week. As the end gets closer the MLB may have just been through one of the best postseasons in recent history. It may not be that way when someone just looks at the series on paper with no series going over 5 games yet. Looking at it from the records a one it seems as though the teams are running through the postseason.

It has been a strange few weeks in professional sports as controversy seems to follow almost every major league. The National Football League has been haunted by controversy after controversy at the start of their season. They have yet to have a week without a major off-field incident that has put the league in jeopardy. The MLB has had their own set of controversy as they always do in every season. In a period where they are still dealing with PED issues there are never a season where the MLB does not deal with some type of controversy.
