This year the day took on a new level as two top pitchers were on the block and their teams were ready to let them go.

The division contains some of the most legendary teams in the MLB and every year they seem to be on top of the league. That can make it extremely difficult for teams to make a run at the top of the division. The MLB season finished up this week and once again it would go to the final day, plus one more, to figure out the postseason picture. The MLB season is a 162 game marathon that takes a full 6 months to finish and can be a real grind on players and on fans. There are points in the season where the long grind gets to players and fans in the Dogs Days of Summer.

Another year under the new system and another thrilling result as the two-wild card system once again came down to the end of the year. The new system has been a successful one so far with plenty of drama near the end of the season. The system was created to do exactly that as they were hoping to create more competition at the end of the season and avoid the boring Septembers.
