2014-15 NHL Preview: Early Stanley Cup Outlook

The Stanley Cup Playoffs are widely considered some of the toughest in the sports world as it is a grind. The playoffs are designed to break teams and players down to the point where they can no longer go on. It is the second season after one that is grinding in itself. The sport values physicality as the players have to fly down the ice as fast as they can while risking the chance that another player will take them out with a big hit.

2014-15 NHL Preview: Atlantic Division

The Atlantic Division is a mix of some of the best teams and some of the worst teams in the NHL as the division is one of the hardest to figure out. On one end of the spectrum lies the Boston Bruins, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Montreal Canadiens. These three teams have proven to be some of the most talented teams in the league over the last few years. The Bruins are the team that leads the pack with one of the best combinations of skill and toughness that make them a true contender in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Meanwhile the Lightning and Canadiens have been built with skill in mind as both are loaded with offensive talent although the toughness has suffered on both of the teams.

It is that time of year again as the NHL regular season is over and only 16 teams will continue to play as the Stanley Cup playoffs begin. This year the playoffs will have a different look though as the NHL moves on with their new system for the first time ever. The NHL would make some massive changes this year in the playoff system when they changed the alignment of the teams. The alignment would give some teams a chance to play where they should have been all along while other teams would see a new set of division opponents.

NHL Week in Review (March 16-22)

The playoff race in the NHL is fully underway as the season begins to wind down with only a few games left. As the season is almost over there are still many spots left in the playoffs with only two teams clinching their spot in the playoffs. The Boston Bruins would do so first as they would ride the longest winning streak of the season to clinch the first spot. They have had a great year so far remaining at the top of the Atlantic Division for the majority of the year and their 12-game winning streak would put them over the top
