NHL Week in Review (January 25-31)

The NHL saw the end of an amazing career this week and the end of what became a man trying to hold on to the thing he loved. Martin Brodeur will go down as the greatest goaltender ever with almost ever record that a goalie can take. There is no doubt that he will find his way into the Hall of Fame as soon as he can and he will be mentioned among the legends of the sport. His time in the NHL was clearly coming to an end in the last few years as he was no longer the dominant goaltender he used to be.

NHL Week in Review (November 30-December 6)

This week in the NHL was full of goodbyes and celebrations of great careers as a captain retired and a legend passed away. As Daniel Alfredsson walked away from the game John Beliveau passed away and the concentration, fittingly, was on them for most of the week. Another legend made news though as Martin Brodeur returned to the NHL. Last year Brodeur remained with his one and only team playing with the New Jersey Devils. It was clear though, that his time in New Jersey was limited.

2014-15 NHL Preview: Early Stanley Cup Outlook

The Stanley Cup Playoffs are widely considered some of the toughest in the sports world as it is a grind. The playoffs are designed to break teams and players down to the point where they can no longer go on. It is the second season after one that is grinding in itself. The regular season is a long set of games where players have to stay mentally tough as well as physically tough. The sport values physicality as the players have to fly down the ice as fast as they can while risking the chance that another player will take them out with a big hit.
