The NFC West was once one of the toughest divisions but recent issues for some teams has made this division a bit more of a mystery with some issues keeping this division as a possible one team race.

The biggest show in North American sports is back again as the Super Bowl travels to one of its favourite location in Arizona. Glendale will host the 49th Super Bowl a year after the NFL experimented with an outdoor Super Bowl. Last year the Super Bowl travelled north to New Jersey where the open air of MetLife Stadium caused plenty of concern. The Northeast in February can be brutal but luckily for the league it ended up one of the more mild days of that winter.

The NFC West was once the worst in the league only a few years ago as they were home to some terrible teams. They could produce one good team every year and had some teams make it to the Super Bowl but the competition was never that good. The rest of the teams did not put up much of a fight against the top team in the division and it was essentially a free win when top teams played them. Lately though that has all changed as the NFC West has become the best division in the NFL and they proved that last season.

Football is an interesting game that marries the intellectual aspect of sports with the power and athleticism of sports. Many do not see this all that often as the sport is given a reputation of being a bunch of dumb athletes running into each other. Sometimes this can be true but there is another side of the sport that plenty of players are good at but only a few players have mastered.

There is a battle that rages on in football year after year and has been there since the very start of the game. It is the very basic of the sport as an offence and a defence must play each other to determine who the better team is. Offence vs. defence has been the struggle for a very long time in football and it will remain that way for as long as the sport goes on. For the longest time the defence has been the winner in the battle between the two sides.

The NFC West has come a long way since the time that they were the joke of the NFC with terrible teams. There have been the odd strong team in the NFC West as some teams have broken out to have great seasons. Every year that a team has gone to the Super Bowl the other three have given almost no resistance to the division champions. All of that has changed though as the NFC Wet has become one of the most competitive and toughest divisions in the league.

The year is one month closer to turning the calendar into 2013 and for the NFL that means the always intimidating month of December. December is the last full month of the season and for some teams it can mean the beginning of the end for their season.
