The American League East has long been considered the best division in baseball as they have regularly seen teams at the top of the league. The division contains some of the most legendary teams in the MLB and every year they seem to be on top of the league. That can make it extremely difficult for teams to make a run at the top of the division. With the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox constantly winning the division the other teams find it hard to break through and win.

The National League East is a strange division that includes some of the best teams in the MLB along with some of the worst. There are strong teams that have fallen off in recent years and teams that have rarely even been in the hunt. Meanwhile there are teams that look as if they will be the World Series Champions year after year. A lot of teams have found their way to the top of the division over the years but there is one that stands out amongst the rest.

Canadian sports have been nailed down to one season and one sport and has been this way for years. The Canadians have never been considered a summer sport nation and have seen hockey as the true Canadian sport. This has been the case for decades with Canadians taking ownership of hockey and winter sports as their own and using it as a sense of pride.

The National League East is a division that is a good cross section of the MLB with teams doing it right and doing it wrong. The MLB is full of these teams that can show how to properly build a team and how to drive a team into the ground. In no division is there more of these teams than in the NL East were new powers are emerging and old powers are freefalling.

Pool D could easily be known as the North American Pool as it features all three North American teams including a European team. The USA considers baseball their national pastime while the countries surrounding them have their own, although less historic, traditions in baseball. This is the area of the world that will pay very close attention to the WBC as it will give them the baseball fix they have been waiting for since the World Series.

It has been an incredible year for sports in 2012 with more than enough stories to look to and more than enough great accomplishments. The world of sports never ceases to impress and give us something that we have not seen before. Champions were crowned in all of the major sports after teams had slugged through long demanding season.

The theme of dominant pitchers continues to show up this year in the MLB as the constant battle between offence and defence continues. There are always the dominant pitchers every year in the MLB and many times the same names continue to pop up. Roy Halladay, Justin Verlander, CC Sabathia, and many more continue to make headlines about their pitching.
