The World Juniors have long been a tournament for the Canadians as they have always been the biggest team. There has always been one other team though that has been one of the best even if they do not focus on the tournament that much. The Russians have always been one of the best teams in the tournament as they have been constantly among the top teams every year.

The World Juniors continued with another day of relative quiet with only two games on tap. These games were also not the best as the top teams in the tournament took on the worst teams in the tournament. There were some surprises though as some teams were able to play much better than expected but were still not able to provide upsets.

The World Junior Tournament entered the second day after a loaded Boxing Day Schedule. The biggest news may have been coming out of the Canadian Camp who lost their physical leader in Devonte Smith-Pelly who broke his foot in the opening game. Smith-Pelly will be out for the rest of the tournament but he will stick with Team Canada as a leader for the team.

There is no question that the World Junior Tournament is one of the favorites and has become a Boxing Day tradition for all Canadians. Recently though the Canadians have had some disappointing years after a long time of ruling the tournament. This year the Canadians will try to get back to their winning ways in Pool B but will have a tough time against the better of the two pools.
