The long marathon of an MLB season is closing out and the postseason race is ending in the next few days. After six months teams are finally at the end of the season where they find out where they stand. The postseason race in the National League is over with positioning the only thing left to determine while in the American League the race is down to only one spot in the postseason.

2014 MLB Preview: Early Playoff Projection

The MLB season is ready to start and the long trek towards the World Series will begin with every team looking to get their chance at standing on top of the league. The MLB season is a long one with 162 games until the regular season is over and often it is more about the team that can last than the team that is the best. At the start of the season teams are judged based on their rosters and their potential.

2014 MLB Preview: NL Central

The MLB is becoming more and more even every year that passes as more teams continue to put their hat in the ring. The NL Central was a perfect expression of this in 2013 when they had one of the best division battles in the MLB. Out of the five teams in the division there were three that continued to fight for the division until the final days of the season. In the past this was always limited to the top two teams as the rest of the teams were put to the bottom to fight it out for third place. It was like that for years until the Pittsburgh Pirates threw their names into the title race.

MLB Week in Review (September 28-October 4)

The MLB season finished up this week and once again it would go to the final day, plus one more, to figure out the postseason picture. The MLB season is a 162 game marathon that takes a full 6 months to finish and can be a real grind on players and on fans. There are points in the season where the long grind gets to players and fans in the Dogs Days of Summer.

2013 MLB Postseason Preview

Another year under the new system and another thrilling result as the two-wild card system once again came down to the end of the year. The new system has been a successful one so far with plenty of drama near the end of the season. The system was created to do exactly that as they were hoping to create more competition at the end of the season and avoid the boring Septembers.

MLB Week in Review (September 7-13)

The MLB postseason race is in full swing with many teams looking towards the playoffs and many more looking to next year. These teams are not the fun teams to watch though as the fun part of the race are the teams that are fighting for their spot. The teams that need to win or will find themselves out of the postseason are the teams that everyone is watching with only a few weeks left to earn their spot. There are only a handful of battles left in the MLB as the season winds down and the games get fewer and fewer with teams falling under the Out of the Running status.

The Last month of the season is underway and the playoff races are in full swing with plenty of teams looking for their shot at the postseason. There are also a number of stories to watch for in this last month with so many things coming to a head at this point in the season. Whether it is the postseason battles in the NL Central or the AL West, the resurgence of the Yankees, or the pursuit of multiple records there is plenty to watch.

MLB Week in Review (August 24-30)

September is almost here and that means the last month of the MLB season as teams race to the postseason. The last month of the season has been a thrilling one in the past as there are only few games left for someone to make a run at the postseason. In 2011 September would get one of its best races in recent memory. Going into the last month of the season the Boston Red Sox would look to be in complete control of the AL wild card.

2013 MLB Preview: NL Central

The National League Central is a team down this year as the Houston Astros made a move to the American League. It won’t mean much as the Astros made little impact on the division and really on the MLB. It does leave the division with five teams and better chance for every team to make the playoffs.

Can the Cards Repeat? (NL Central Preview)

The NL Central is a division with some issues this year as it is one of the most unstable divisions in baseball. Almost every team looks shaky in the central division that could see just the best of the worst win and earn a berth in the postseason. Along with the uneasiness of the team’s performance there is also controversy in the division.
