UFC 179 Preview
The UFC is back from a brief break as they return to Brazil in yet another rematch pay-per-view in what has become a theme for the UFC. The last few pay-per-views have been all about revenge for many of the main event and that is the case for UFC 179. The main event will feature the man who many consider to be the best pound-for-pound in the world against one of his many wins. Jose Aldo has ruled the Featherweight Division ever since the start of the Featherweight division in the UFC.
Rematch Made in Baltimore (UFC 172 Review)
There is something about Brazilian fighters that makes them these mysterious athletes that have great legends. Before they enter the UFC they cut their teeth in the lower rankings of the Brazilian fight world and in that time gain a lot of talk. When they are ready to make their debut in the UFC the legend surrounding them can be great. They are fighters that have black belts and world championships and massive undefeated streaks. That can sometimes intimidate other fighters in the UFC as they prepare to fight these legends.
UFC 172 Preview
The last time Jon Jones entered the octagon it was against the man that man considered the greatest challenge to the title. Coming into the fight Jones was considered one of the top three fighters in the world regardless of weight class. He would take on Alexander Gustafsson who was the only fighter that could match the length of Jones and could potentially limit Jones in his striking. The fight would turn out to be one of the best fights of the year as Gustafsson met all of the expectations.
Experience wins in Brazil (UFC 163 Review)
Another title would be up for grabs this weekend when Jose Aldo would defend his Featherweight belt against Chan Sung Jung. It would be an interesting matchup as Aldo would defend his belt against a fighter who not many expected to be here yet. Originally the fight was to be Aldo vs. former WEC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis but an injury would cancel that fight forcing the UFC to find a new challenger.
UFC 163 Preview
A week after the lighter weight classes were featured at UFC on Fox 8 the Featherweight belt will be up for grabs at UFC 163. In the fight will be one of the most dominant Brazilians in the UFC and a fighter who makes every stand up when he is in the octagon. Jose Aldo reminds a lot of people of a lighter Anderson Silva. The Brazilian is currently on a 12 fight win streak including three title fights in the WEC and four title fights in the UFC.
