The NHL CBA signed only last year did a lot to change the NHL, including providing a long labour peace. One of the aspects that is brand new was used for the first time this year as the Christmas break would begin early in the week. The Christmas Break is something that was added to the CBA by the NHLPA and was an aspect that the players loved.

NHL Week in Review (April 21-27)

The NHL is ready for one of the best parts of the season as they move towards the NHL playoffs and the Stanley Cup. With the season coming to a close it is time to take a look back at the season that was in the league. The season would start off in a very strange way as the NHL and NHLPA would be locked in yet another CBA negotiation. They would lose a large part of the season as the two sides would continue to fight over the slice of pie each side would get of NHL revenue.
