The NHL is heading towards a new important date for the calendar as the roster freeze is coming and it is becoming a secondary trade deadline for teams looking to add some extra talent before the new year.

The NHL CBA signed only last year did a lot to change the NHL, including providing a long labour peace. One of the aspects that is brand new was used for the first time this year as the Christmas break would begin early in the week. The Christmas Break is something that was added to the CBA by the NHLPA and was an aspect that the players loved.
