Last week was one of the turning points in the young 2012 season and for the NFL in general as the next move would make a big difference. After a Monday Night game in Week 3 the NFL and their fans saw one of the most controversial calls in the history of the NFL. The Green Bay Packers lost the game to the Seattle Seahawks on a Hail Mary Touchdown pass that seemed more like a game ending interception.

So it has finally happened the replacement referees have finally cost an NFL team a win on one of the biggest stages of the week. The Monday Night game is one of the most popular each week in the NFL with millions of people watching. Some familiar faces returned this past week as the first week of the NFL season kicked off with teams and players returning to football. There was one noticeable group that would not be returning to the field though as the NFL referees were nowhere to be seen. There were a number of people in referee uniforms but the usual faces in the stripes were not that. That is because the NFL referees were locked out for the first week of the new NFL season.
