NHL Week in Review (January 25-31)

The NHL saw the end of an amazing career this week and the end of what became a man trying to hold on to the thing he loved. Martin Brodeur will go down as the greatest goaltender ever with almost ever record that a goalie can take. There is no doubt that he will find his way into the Hall of Fame as soon as he can and he will be mentioned among the legends of the sport. His time in the NHL was clearly coming to an end in the last few years as he was no longer the dominant goaltender he used to be.

NHL Week in Review (December 28-January 3)

The New Year is here and as has become tradition that means the Winter Classic rang in the new year. The Winter Classic started as a spectacle for the NHL that really never had any of those types of games. It is akin to Thanksgiving Day in the NFL as the NHL focuses on the big outdoor game that marks the start of a new year. The game is also strategic for the NHL as they host it just when most other big sports are winding down. The NFL is heading into the playoffs while NCAA football is nearing the end of the bowl season.

NHL Week in Review (October 12-18)

This past week the Florida Panthers set a record that nobody wants to set, especially not a struggling franchise. They had an all-time low in attendance when they faced-off against the Ottawa Senators this week. As the teams came out on the ice for warm-ups there was a significant amount of empty seats. As the game began there was not a lot of change to the numbers with a total attendance of 7,311.

This youth movement has made the draft one of the most important events of the NHL calendar.

NHL Week in Review (January 26-February 1)

It was another week where two games took focus over everything else as the stadium Series continued. The entire idea of the Stadium Series was to highlight the game to the USA by putting them in amazing stadiums. The stadiums became the focus of the series and they would kick it off in one of the most legendary stadiums in North America. Dodger Stadium had played host to some of the best moments in MLB history and in American sports history so it only seemed fitting that it would host a major game in the legendary stadium.
