The NCAA season has not seen a lot of changes as the schedules have been unimpressive and the upsets have been few and far between. The beginning of the season would see the best teams in the nation take on teams that were far from the rankings. The results were predictable as the top teams would put up massive points against the teams and have remained the same in the rankings for the entire season.

The NCAA would see possibly one of the worst weeks of football in recent memory as it seemed that the entire league had taken a week off. The top teams in the league would take on some much lesser talent and smaller schools. It is something that happens often as head coaches are allowed to schedule their own games and pick a few weak teams to go against.

This week of games was a bit of good and a bit of bad and again saw a lot of boring games until the night. With Notre Dame and Stanford both going into the spotlight expected to lose in the night games the roles were reversed. The Irish beat their rivals the Michigan State Spartans who were ranked 10 spots ahead of them and the Cardinal beat the second best team in the nation in the USC Trojans.

The NCAA was not too thrilling this weekend but there was one thing that many noticed above all. The top 10 teams in the NCAA are there for a reason and that is because they are the cream of the crop. There were a number of games this past weekend that saw these top teams completely dominate some good teams. The Top 25 is constantly under scrutiny because it is not an exact science. The problem is that the rankings are based on a number of different factors and before the BCS rankings come out the rankings are based on writers and coaches voting for their top teams.

The NCAA is in the swing of things as they entered week 2 and many teams began playing their real schedules after their warm-up games. Some teams began their conferences schedules while others took on some big rivals as they all continue towards the #1 spot. Oklahoma Continues to have a hold on the #1 spot as LSU and Alabama battle for the #2 spot. Meanwhile Boise State and Florida State remain in the top five while Stanford is just on the outside led by Heisman favorite Andrew Luck. With some of these teams in action the movement at the top of the Top 25 was relatively low. One major aspect of the NCAA this year is the emergence of new QBs in some major programs.
