Making it into the Baseball Hall of Fame for a power hitter from the steroid era is a tough thing to do but after years of waiting Jeff Bagwell is there as a member of the Class of 2017.

The scars of the MLB’s steroid era are still around as every player performing at a higher level than most faces the accusations of steroid use and it hasn’t changed this year.

The MLB may be over with the official steroid era but that doesn’t mean that the league is over dealing with the issues that the era brought with it.

The MLB was happy to move on to a new era after the 1990s and early 2000s as they had just gone through one of the toughest parts of their history. The steroid era was unprecedented in the MLB as no league had dealt with the issue on a scale like baseball. It was a time were steroids became the major conversation throughout the sports world and the MLB was the centre of the controversy.

The MLB season is beginning to wind down with the last month of the regular season approaching. Although some teams have found themselves out of the postseason already the last month will see a final race for the playoffs. As teams begin preparing for the playoffs teams get bigger and the top players become key to any success as days off become sparse.
