Championship week would once again clear plenty of things up for the NCAA as it was the last chance teams would have to show that they belong in the Top 25. Many teams would see their last games just hoping to make a big enough impression to earn a bowl bid. It was the last chance for teams to show that they can put on a great show in a bowl and some teams would accomplish this while other teams fell short. Then there was the teams sitting among the top ten of the BCS rankings who all were looking at a few big games that would change the face of the BCS.

The NCAA season has not seen a lot of changes as the schedules have been unimpressive and the upsets have been few and far between. The beginning of the season would see the best teams in the nation take on teams that were far from the rankings. The results were predictable as the top teams would put up massive points against the teams and have remained the same in the rankings for the entire season.

Rivalry games have been around every single sport whether it be professional football, hockey, baseball, or even amateur sports. They can be a result of a storied history between the two clubs like the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers rivalry in the NFL. They can come as a result of a recent playing history of very important games like the Chicago Blackhawks and Vancouver Canucks in the NHL. They can also come as a result of two cities hate for each other like the New York and Boston rivalry that exists in every sport
