Déjà vu at its Best (48th Vanier Cup Preview)

The 2012 CIS season has seen one thing dominate the season and that is the consistency to which the season has played out. Last year saw the Calgary Dinos, Acadia Axemen, Laval Rouge et Or, and McMaster Marauders all make the National playoffs. This year it was the same as all four teams repeated as champions in their conference. The similarities continued as the Mitchell and Uteck Bowls saw the McMaster Marauders and Laval Rouge et Or take the wins.

CIS football Report (47th Vanier Cup)

I have seen many football games in my time but I have never seen a game that was as good as the 47th Vanier Cup. It had everything including great team stories, great individual stories, great defensive plays, great offensive plays, some controversial calls, plus double overtime. It all started before the ball was even kicked off as the game was built as a typical David vs. Goliath matchup.

47th Vanier Cup Preview

In 1965 the University of Toronto Varsity Blues and Alberta Golden Bears faced off at Varsity Stadium and started a tradition. After the game ended The Blues were the first team crowned as Vanier Cup Champions. This tradition continues in its 47th year as the Vanier Cup will be up for grabs again this year with one familiar face and an old friend.
