2014 MLB Preview: AL East
The American League East has long been considered the best division in baseball as they have regularly seen teams at the top of the league. The division contains some of the most legendary teams in the MLB and every year they seem to be on top of the league. That can make it extremely difficult for teams to make a run at the top of the division. With the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox constantly winning the division the other teams find it hard to break through and win.
MLB Week in Review (October 19-25)
The 2013 World Series Began this week with the St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Red Sox playing to a 1-1 tie in the series already. Every year the World Series pits two teams against each other and the stories of both of these teams make for great headlines. Generally there are only a few great storylines for the World Series with two teams playing with something pushing them on. This year these stories would be seen easily with the St. Louis Cardinals looking to be second team to win the World Series in three years.
MLB Week in Review (September 21-27)
The Season is wrapping up with few teams still able to earn a postseason spot and the rest of the teas preparing for what comes next. In the National League there are no spots left as the postseason is set and most teams know where they stands. The Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Dodgers will enter the playoffs as division champions while the Cincinnati Reds are sent to the Wild Card game. The Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals continue to fight for the Central Division with the loser moving to the wild card game against the Reds.
MLB Week in Review (August 31 – September 6)
The Last month of the season is underway and the playoff races are in full swing with plenty of teams looking for their shot at the postseason. There are also a number of stories to watch for in this last month with so many things coming to a head at this point in the season. Whether it is the postseason battles in the NL Central or the AL West, the resurgence of the Yankees, or the pursuit of multiple records there is plenty to watch.
MLB Week in Review (July 13-19)
The Season is officially half over as the Mid-Summer Classic gave teams and players a break from the long season. As always the All-Star game brought up the usual debates over the real point of a game to showcase the best of the best. Debates over the World Series home field advantage at stake would be one of the biggest issues.
MLB Week in Review (May 25-31)
Almost a year to the day The Sport Addiction would post a MLB Week in Review about a seemingly constant problem in baseball. In fact it seems to be a constant factor in more than just the MLB with as every major league seems to be going through the same thing. Officials, Referees, or Umpires are all some of the most talked about people in sports.
MLB Week in Review (April 28-May 4)
Last week I wrote about Philip Humber and his entrance into the MLB record books pitching the 21st perfect game in MLB history. This week another pitcher put his name in the history books as Jered Weaver pitched the 274th no-hitter in MLB history. As Weaver finished off his no-hitter he was talked about for his feat but then he was quickly brushed aside. There is not much more than the fact that he pitched a no-hitter as most people seemed to forget about him.
