The Midseason point of the season is fast approaching as players and managers prepare to go to New York for the All-Star game or take a break in the middle of the season. It is a point where the teams and players around the league can truly take stock of where they are. The MLB season is 162 games long and is clearly the longest season in professional sports.

The MLB Season began this week as teams began the long trek towards the World Series with their first games that meant something. The opening week of the MLB season is always a strange one as the truth finally comes out about teams around the league. It is not a whole truth though as teams can fool a lot of people at the beginning of the season.

The American League Central is a division on the decline in recent years but in 2013 a number of teams will try to bring the division back. The last few years this division has followed a very specific pattern as there is always one dominant team. That team used to be the Minnesota Twins who would win the division almost every year.
