The CIS Season is officially over and the hardware has been handed out with not a whole lot changing. The season began with the Big Four and talk of the four repeat champions as questions arose as to who could continue their runs in their conferences. Changes would be seen but in the end the result was much the same as everyone had seen before. Two of the big four would last to the end of the season and both were the two teams that had much more than a three-peat at stake.

The regular season has come to a close as every conference is now ready to catch up to the OUA and begin their playoff push. With the OUA playoffs through the first week and the first two teams moving on the playoffs this year all conferences are now in the semifinals. For the OUA it was McMaster and Guelph who would move on to the semifinals against Western and Queen’s. They will continue their run at the Yates Cup next week with the semifinal games while the rest of the CIS will do the same.

Out of all of the repeat champions none have been more dominant than the Laval Rouge et Or who have ruled the RSEQ for 10 years. They will be going for their 11th straight Dunsmore Cup as they represent the most dominant franchise in the CIS. Laval has defied all of the odds in the CIS as they have long since lost their original recruiting class that started the run of 10 straight.
