The newly revamped alignment of the NHL will have its affects in every one of the new divisions including the new Atlantic Division. The Atlantic Division will see a new host of teams from the Northeast join the division. In fact the entire Northeast division has joined the new Atlantic Division among a number of familiar faces. Then there are the new faces for many of these teams in the form of the Florida teams who will move from the southeast to the Atlantic.

October is a great sports month for any sports fan as it can be the busiest time of year for the sports world. The National Football League is in the second month of their season, Major League Baseball is in the midst of the playoffs, and the National Basketball Association is just beginning their season. Of course there is another of the big four leagues in North America that starts in October as the National Hockey League begins its march to the Stanley Cup.

Hockey is officially back with the lockout over and the 2013 season beginning on Saturday as players got back to hockey. It was a long time for this day to happen as the NHL and NHLPA were locked in a CBA dispute that seemed destined to end a season. The season would be saved at the last minute though as the two sides reached a deal and would begin the season with only 48 games to play until the playoffs.
