Well the honeymoon phase is over in Cleveland after Johnny Manziel got his first start for the Browns in Week 15. There had been plenty of build up after Manziel dropped to 23 in the 2014 draft despite his great playmaking ability in college. He was not considered the most pro-ready quarterback in the draft though. His size scared many and his multiple issues off of the field made a lot of teams pass on him.

The Battle of the Bay has not been the usual close battle that many fans have hoped for time and time again. A big part of that is the evolution of the 49ers into one of the elite teams of the NFL. They have been close multiple times in the last few years to winning a Super Bowl but have fallen just short. Despite their inability to win the big game the Niners have remained one of the most dangerous teams in the NFL and have consistently been the better team in their matchups with Oakland.

2013 was not a sports powerhouse year as there were no major events throughout the year but that wouldn’t stop the stories from coming. There was plenty to talk about this year despite the lack of major world events. It was a year of great surprises but one aspect of the year took over the rest. 2013 was not the most positive year for sports as heroes fell almost monthly in a year that was not great for those who support the merits of sports and sports figures.

The NCAA Football season so far has been somewhat boring as almost everything that was supposed to happen has. There have been upsets but no upsets that have changed the face of the National Championship picture. The rankings have remained fairly unchanged for the last three weeks and the matchups week to week have not got many people excited. There is still plenty of times for the big games this year as the season moves on and the games get more important but for now it has not been very exciting.

The College Football season would open this past weekend with plenty of hype as teams began their quest towards the National Championship. As teams started their sprint to the bowl season there was plenty to talk about. Teams that should win and how good they would be along with teams that should lose but may surprise some people.

The NCAA Season is underway and once again one of the most exciting and debated leagues in football will continue on for another year. The NCAA is a league that seems to always be under fire as scandal seems to follow them at every turn. In many ways it is rightfully so as the NCAA is one of the strangest leagues in football as they rely on essentially free labour to make billions of dollars.

There is only one thing constant in the NCAA and that is that there will be upsets and that they cannot be predicted. It seemed this year that there was going to be one constant though as the Alabama Crimson Tide looked unbeatable. After losing one game in 2011 they still made the National Championship and won it all.
