The CFL took a step this week that a lot of leagues are beginning to take with a serious incident involving a player resulting in the likely end of a career with the league taking strong and quick action.

The West Division has been the best division in the CFL for years but in the last two they haven’t been able to get it done in the most important game of the year.

The story reads much the same as a year ago with an underdog team from the east taking on a powerhouse from the west, last year it ended up with an upset but a year can make a big difference.

It was one of the most lopsided match-ups in the history of the CFL but that analysis only gave Ottawa more motivation to take home a Grey Cup in their third season as a franchise and bringing a title back to Ottawa for the first time in 40 years.

As the CFL enters the middle part of the season many things will begin to happen as teams begin to change. Through 6 weeks of the season teams have begun to forge a name for themselves either as a team to be feared or a team who cannot get it together. Many teams though are still trying to get into a groove with new players and offences just beginning to get into a groove.
