The Pacific Division will certainly be a division with a lot of eyes on it as the California teams still fight it out and try to get back to the top while the Alberta teams look for a resurgence and the newest team tries to make an impression.

The Metropolitan Division does not have the most popular name in the NHL as many did not like it when the NHL announced the new division last year. Yet there is no other name that could describe this division any better. It is exactly that, a Metropolitan division with some of the biggest cities in the NHL in the division. New York is represented with their two teams alongside New Jersey from across the Hudson. Pittsburgh and Philadelphia also have their cities represented in the division.

The Central division saw a facelift in 2013-14 and with the adjustment of teams it was expected that one would rule them all. The Chicago Blackhawks had been the rulers of the old Central division for years and have been Stanley Cup favourites for the same amount of time. They went into last year as favourites again to win a division with a lot of questions. They seemed like the only sure shot in the division that was full of young teams and unsure talent. Then the season started and a team that many thought as a rebuilding team began to take control of the division.

The playoff race in the NHL is fully underway as the season begins to wind down with only a few games left. As the season is almost over there are still many spots left in the playoffs with only two teams clinching their spot in the playoffs. The Boston Bruins would do so first as they would ride the longest winning streak of the season to clinch the first spot. They have had a great year so far remaining at the top of the Atlantic Division for the majority of the year and their 12-game winning streak would put them over the top
