Pool D in the World Baseball Classic is possibly the most competitive in the tournament as there is a lot of talent in this group making it one of the toughest this year.

2013 WBC: Pool 2 Review

Pool 2 in the 2013 World Baseball Classic was one full of surprises for the tournament and much like Pool 1 had two very different type of teams. There were the teams that were expected to make it into this round and those who were not expected to make it in. The USA and Dominican Republic were expected to be here while Italy and Puerto Rico were not thought to be able to make it here.

2013 WBC: Pool C&D Review

The 2013 World Baseball Classic has had its fair share of the unexpected with almost two weeks of play already in Asia. The first part of the tournament saw a few big surprises with some teams being eliminated that were never supposed to lose in the first round. Now it was the America’s turn as Pools C and D got underway.

Pool D could easily be known as the North American Pool as it features all three North American teams including a European team. The USA considers baseball their national pastime while the countries surrounding them have their own, although less historic, traditions in baseball. This is the area of the world that will pay very close attention to the WBC as it will give them the baseball fix they have been waiting for since the World Series.
