NHL Week in Review (November 3-9)

The Sochi Olympics are fast approaching and the tryouts are ramping up for every player in the NHL. The Olympics will begin in February 2014 and for the international hockey organizations the beginning of the 2013-14 season was a chance to see potential players in games. The Olympics are one of the biggest competitions in the international hockey calendar as it is the one time when the best from every country can face off.

NHL Week in Review (October 1-5)

The NHL season is underway and it did not take very long for the storylines to be produced as only a few days into the season debates have already started and restarted. Only one game into the entire NHL season and the debate over fighting would become a major issue again. After George Parros was knocked out in the opening game of the season the fight debate would begin like it has every year with more pushback on fighting in hockey after the freak accident.

NHL Week in Review (April 7-13)

The exciting and unpredictable 2013 season is coming to a close as the teams are preparing for the playoffs while other look for that playoff spot. As the games become that much more important a debate that has been going since the last lockout in 2004-05. After that lockout there were a lot of changes to the game that were put in place to try and make the game more exciting.

NHL Week in Review (Feb. 19-25)

With the Trade Deadline on Monday the trades were flying this past week as teams began to pull the trigger on deals. With the trade deadline beginning to heat up in the weeks before many GMs were looking to make a deal this past week before it was too late. With the first few deals done teams began to make their last ditch efforts to either get rid of big contracts or add the last few pieces.

NHL Week in Review (Oct. 23-29)

This week in the NHL saw a flashback to the 1980s when the Philadelphia Flyers and the Winnipeg Jets faced off. The two teams came together on opposite ends of the spectrum in the NHL. The Winnipeg Jets are a major story in the NHL, especially in Canada, as the new team on the block and the 8th Canadian team in the league.
