The 2016 World Juniors are over and the theme of motivation kept poking up as four teams competed for the medals in the final day of the tournament.

It finally arrived after two weeks in Ufa, Russia the Medal day was here as the new champion would be determined and the rest of the rankings would be sorted out. Would it be the Americans who finished in 7th place in 2012 or the Swedes who could repeat as champions. In the bronze medal game who could recover from a disappointing tournament from both of the top hockey powers.

The majority of the tournament is now finished as the relegation round is over and rankings have begun to fill in. The day was filled with plenty of games as teams figured out where they ranked among the rest of the teams in the tournament.

The Medal round is drawing to a close as the champions and the relegated teams will be determined soon. As the Semi-Finals approached there were two big favorites with the Russians and the Canadians looking to be on the path to the Gold Medal game in another chapter to their rivalry.

The World Juniors came to an end after another wild year that saw upsets and typical blowouts. This tournament has had it all as we have seen breakout players emerge who may be able to get the attention of the NHL scouts before the draft. There has also been some amazing goalie performances form a number of teams as little known goalies began making a name for themselves.
