The New York Giants are attempting to move on from the Eli Manning era after never really accepting the QB as their guy and always looking for a way out.

The New York Giants’ season is over but the blame seems to be heading under centre where the team replaces a two-time Super Bowl champion with an unsuccessful starter and an unproven rookie.

The NFL this week got a glimpse of one of the most unique personalities in the league when he gets to be completely free which might be the best message to many teams in the league that have those unique personalities.

With a new team already in Los Angeles the Oakland Raiders immediately began looking for alternatives and in less than a season they may just have one, or did Las Vegas just become their new bargaining chip?

It is one of the most unpredictable divisions in the NFL and it is not necessarily because the NFC East has the most great teams.

Much like the AFC East the NFC east is one of the stranger divisions in the NFL but unlike in the AFC the East in the NFC is a much more formidable division. The NFC East is a division that produces a little bit more of a punch than their counterparts in the AFC and there is a different level of competition to win the division. In the AFC East the Patriots are the rulers but in the NFC it is almost a toss-up every year to find out who will win. The last few years have created a real divide in the division with the development of two very distinct types of teams.

The NFC East has been a weaker division in the last few years but changes are coming and superstars are rising to make this a division to watch. With Robert Griffin III entering the division last year everyone was watching. RGIII would electrify the league and lead the Redskins to the division title with his arm and his legs.

This week was supposed to be an article about a new trend in the NFL but then a sad story arose just after the end of the second week in the league. The story was that of the death of Steve Sabol a person that many casual fans may not know but someone that has shaped the way we view all sports.

Super Bowl XLVI had so many storylines it was hard to keep up in the two weeks leading up to the game. The biggest storyline was the uncanny likeness that this year’s Super Bowl had to the Super Bowl in 2008. In 2008 Super Bowl XLII featured the New England Patriots and the New York Giants, just like this year.

This year the playoffs took an eerily similar turn as it begins to look a lot like the 2008 playoffs. In 2008 the New England Patriots were on their way to becoming the best team in NFL history behind the arm of Tom Brady and the brains of Bill Belichick.
