They are called the skill positions in football, those positions that touch the ball more often than other positions. These are the players that find themselves in the headlines and one the post-game shows every week. They are the most talked about players in the sport and are the players that everyone watches closely in every game. Although multiple positions carry this moniker there is one that stands above the rest when it comes to the NFL.

The AFC east is a division that has regularly had dominant teams in the mix but lately they seem to be a division that just pumps out mediocre teams. The king of those mediocre teams is the New England Patriots who are not necessarily mediocre. They are one of the best teams in the league year after year but have done so well and been so consistent that it really doesn’t shock anyone. Now they just continue to win and create less drama than any other division. There are rarely tight battles in the division anymore and which makes the drama that much less in this division.

The NFL has become a passing league in the last few years, although still with a love for the run game, and in turn has made the NFL a quarterback’s league. In the NFL the most important position has become the man under centre and without a good QB that can at least manage a game you cannot win. This is why teams go all out to try and get that QB they think will lead them to the Super Bowl.

The AFC East has had one ruling body in the past decade as the New England Patriots have been the dominant team in the East. The division is going through changes this year though as the team that was always perfect has joined the dysfunction of the AFC East. The East is a strange place in the AFC as it is full of teams that can seem to figure it out while the controversy continues to surround the entire division.

The NCAA season is coming close to the midway point which means that the BCS rankings are just around the corner. Games become more important with every week as the next loss could put a team too far back to recover and push their way back to the top and into the national title picture. As each games get more important the games also get much better with conference play heating up and some teams unable to avoid some of the best teams.

The NCAA is a league that prides itself on providing top tier education to athletes from a number of sports. The two biggest sports in the NCAA are basketball and football and one big reason for this is the fact that these sports are the training ground for future professional athletes. The fun of watching these sports is to see the development of young talent as they do their best to make the professional leagues.
