Underdogs Shine in Cincinnati (UFC Fight Night 40 Review)

The Middleweight division would once again take the centre stage in the UFC when two middleweights looking for the spotlight to shine their way. The main event of UFC Fight Night 40 would express the complete difference between two fighters that were both looking for the same thing. On one end was the mostly quiet although ultra-confident Matt Brown who has spent his entire career looking to get some respect without making a lot of noise.

The talk going in to UFC 165 surrounded the significance of the main even no matter who would win. If Alexander Gustafsson could get past Jones it would be the second time in the last few months where the #1 Pound for Pound fighter in the UFC lost his belt. It would also be the first time a European fighter held a belt in the UFC.

Flyweight Picture Finally Clears Up (UFC on FX 3 Review)

The Flyweight division is still an extremely young division in the UFC with only two fights between flyweights so far. These two fights were the Flyweight Tournament to determine the first ever flyweight champion of the UFC. The fights though only produced one potential champion as Joseph Benavidez won his match to earn a spot in the finals.
