The 2013 World Baseball Classic would see a revival of Caribbean baseball as two Caribbean teams would face off in the finals. It was a change from previous years where Japan would win the WBC and Asian countries would play a major role in the top teams of the tournament. This year it was different as the Caribbean teams would make their impact in the tournament and show that the Caribbean is a true baseball hot bed.

There is only really one way to describe the 2013 World Baseball Classic and that is simply unpredictable. It has been the overwhelming theme this year as teams have been eliminated early that were never supposed to be sitting on the outside.

Pool 2 in the 2013 World Baseball Classic was one full of surprises for the tournament and much like Pool 1 had two very different type of teams. There were the teams that were expected to make it into this round and those who were not expected to make it in. The USA and Dominican Republic were expected to be here while Italy and Puerto Rico were not thought to be able to make it here.

The 2013 World Baseball Classic has had its fair share of the unexpected with almost two weeks of play already in Asia. The first part of the tournament saw a few big surprises with some teams being eliminated that were never supposed to lose in the first round. The 2013 World Baseball Classic is about to get underway as the best team in the world will once again be determined. The WBC has been an awakening, of sorts, in the baseball world as the tournament has shocked the original thought of the best teams in the world. Before 2006 many just assumed that the USA was were the best players came from with the Caribbean countries producing some very good talent as well.

Pool C moves to the Americas as the other side of the world gets to show their strength in the WBC. The pool will feature a number of strong powers from the Caribbean which is a powerhouse of baseball. Places like the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico have been the base of the talent pool in the MLB as they have boasted some of the best players in the MLB.
