NHL Week in Review (December 28-January 3)

The New Year is here and as has become tradition that means the Winter Classic rang in the new year. The Winter Classic started as a spectacle for the NHL that really never had any of those types of games. It is akin to Thanksgiving Day in the NFL as the NHL focuses on the big outdoor game that marks the start of a new year. The NFL is heading into the playoffs while NCAA football is nearing the end of the bowl season.

The Chicago Blackhawks remain in the Central Division while the Detroit Red Wings move to the Eastern Conference.

NHL Week in Review (March 24-30)

The NHL trade deadline is right around the corner as one of the busiest times in the NHL calendar will take place again. The trade deadline has become an annual event in the NHL that has taken it to a level unlike any other league in North America. The NHL is in a unique position when it comes to the trade deadline as the league values the date more than most leagues.

2013 NHL Preview: The Northeast Division
