The American League West looked like it was headed to becoming a very competitive division but it never panned out leaving one team on top which is where they hope to stay at the end of 2017 despite the rising of a few teams in the west.

The National League East is a strange division in the MLB as the competition is nowhere near the level of other divisions and yet they produce strong teams every year.

The National League East is a strange division that includes some of the best teams in the MLB along with some of the worst. There are strong teams that have fallen off in recent years and teams that have rarely even been in the hunt. Meanwhile there are teams that look as if they will be the World Series Champions year after year. A lot of teams have found their way to the top of the division over the years but there is one that stands out amongst the rest.

Over the last two weeks I have written about the great performances of pitchers in what is looking like the year of the pitcher 2.0. With a perfect game and a no-hitter in the last two weeks pitchers and defence looked to be taking over for yet another year. This week though the offence showed some signs of life as yet another milestone was broken except this time it was a batter who broke it.
