2013 CIS Preview: National Outlook

College Football in the states is constantly in the news with lawsuits and the constant debate over the bowl system. In Canada it is quite different as the system is what many wish the NCAA was. The playoff system in the CIS is a great one but it does not prevent one team from dominating most years.

Is There any end to the Dominance? (RSEQ Preview)

Out of all of the repeat champions none have been more dominant than the Laval Rouge et Or who have ruled the RSEQ for 10 years. They will be going for their 11th straight Dunsmore Cup as they represent the most dominant franchise in the CIS. Laval has defied all of the odds in the CIS as they have long since lost their original recruiting class that started the run of 10 straight.

Can Laval Make it 10 in a row? (2012 RSEQ Preview)

The RSEQ has been a one team conference for almost the entire last decade of Quebec University Football. It is clear that there has only been one team to pay attention to for this time as the Laval has been a force in the conference. There have been few challengers to the crown for the Rouge et Or as they continue to turn out great teams.

The Marauders look for a repeat season (2012 OUA Preview)

Ontario University Athletics is the largest and most prestigious of all of the conferences in the CIS. The OUA is the home of some of the oldest teams in North America with three teams created before the 1900s. Football began with universities and colleges and in Canada some of the first teams from universities were located in Ontario.

Can Dinos continue their Dominance? (2012 CanWest Preview)

The Canadian Western University Athletic Association (CWUAA) has been a league of the have and have-nots for years. There have really been two main powers in the conference over the last decade with Saskatchewan and Calgary winning 8 of the last 10 Hardy Trophies. The decade began with Saskatchewan ruling the roost as they won almost every year and always seemed to be around at the end of the year.
