UFC’s Big Night in Vegas (UFC 187 Review)

It was a busy night for the UFC as five divisions were all on display as top fighters had chances for title fights and two titles were on the line.

The UFC will be ending their year with a massive card and with it the reminders of an era gone by in 2013. The year began with what many would consider the most dominant group of champions ever assembled. A number of weight divisions would see their champions solidify their spot in 2012 and there did not seem to be much change coming.

Everything comes to an end but Anderson Silva’s reign as UFC Middleweight Champion seemed to only be coming to an end on his terms. Silva had not lost in his entire time in the UFC which included a record 10 Middleweight title defences. Silva had a 16-0 record in the UFC and would quickly become the best fighter to ever step into the octagon.

It has become an old story in the past few years when Anderson Silva signs up to fight another opponent. The greatest fighter to ever step into the octagon is constantly doubted with almost every challenger that steps in to the octagon with him. With every challenger come the questions over whether or not this is the time Anderson Silva will fall.

UFC on Fuel TV 4 Preview

The middleweight division is once again stable after UFC 148 saw the reign of Anderson Silva continue. It is a reign that has lasted since 2006 and has left the middleweight division with few if any challengers. Chael Sonnen was one of the last middleweight sin the division that could pose a threat to Silva but there are still a number of middleweights looking to prove that they could be the next one.
