The Rivalry is Just Beginning (UFC 145 Review)

The UFC has seen its’ share of rivalries over the years and many of them have been in the ultra competitive Light Heavyweight division. The last great rivalry was the longtime hatred between Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz who simply did not like each other.

The UFC has seen its fair share of bitter rivalries over the year and all have led to some great fights and some great storylines. Whether it is Shamrock-Ortiz, Liddell-Ortiz, or Sonnen-Silva rivalries drive the sport with fans divided and debates started. At UFC 145 the UFC may introduce the next great rivalry in the sport when Jon Jones will defend his Light Heavyweight Title against his now archrival Rashad Evans.

Throwing Bombs in Birmingham

UFC 138 did not receive much media in the months leading up to the fight with UFC on Fox taking a lot of the focus. UFC on Fox is a big promotion for the UFC and it has rightly gotten a lot of media time with two heavyweights fighting and the premiere of UFC on network television. The issue with the media going to UFC on Fox is that the media was not on the fantastic card that would be featured in Birmingham, England this past Saturday.
