The American League was once the most dominant division in the sports but that era is over but that doesn’t mean that these teams aren’t still putting in some great performances as they look to do the same in 2017.

The AL East will always be the most watched division in the MLB and as a result every team will always put up a fight in what looks like yet another tough battle for the division.

The Midsummer Classic has come and gone once again as the MLB All-Star would provide the American League with home field advantage in the World Series. It was another display of the best of the best and was a typical game these days with the AL winning 5-3. More than just home field advantage and a display of the best players in baseball this all-star game would see a passing of the torch. Derek Jeter has been the man in the MLB for years as he is the one player that everyone can say has done it the right way.

One year ago this week the Boston Marathon would take on a new place in history when two bombs were detonated during the race. These two bombs would kill three people and injure 264 in a terrorist act that would rock the world. The attacks would become a much bigger story with the manhunt of the two people responsible for the bombings. The attacks would have a massive effect in Boston as a new movement arose out of the tragedy when Boston Strong was created. Bostonians have always been known as a proud people that have extreme loyalty to the place that they grew up.

The American League East has long been considered the best division in baseball as they have regularly seen teams at the top of the league. The division contains some of the most legendary teams in the MLB and every year they seem to be on top of the league. That can make it extremely difficult for teams to make a run at the top of the division. With the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox constantly winning the division the other teams find it hard to break through and win.
