The American League West looked like it was headed to becoming a very competitive division but it never panned out leaving one team on top which is where they hope to stay at the end of 2017 despite the rising of a few teams in the west.

The American League East has long been considered the best division in baseball as they have regularly seen teams at the top of the league. The division contains some of the most legendary teams in the MLB and every year they seem to be on top of the league. That can make it extremely difficult for teams to make a run at the top of the division. With the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox constantly winning the division the other teams find it hard to break through and win.

The MLB is becoming more and more even every year that passes as more teams continue to put their hat in the ring. The NL Central was a perfect expression of this in 2013 when they had one of the best division battles in the MLB. Out of the five teams in the division there were three that continued to fight for the division until the final days of the season. In the past this was always limited to the top two teams as the rest of the teams were put to the bottom to fight it out for third place. It was like that for years until the Pittsburgh Pirates threw their names into the title race.

The MLB Postseason is creeping closer to the end as the World Series Championships are right around the corner. One team already punched their ticket as the experienced St. Louis Cardinals are back and ready for another title. The Cards are back in the World Series for the second time in 4 years as they look to continue to the dominance of two teams in the MLB. Only two teams have won the World Series in the last three years as the San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals.
